10-Step Android Security Hardening

Securing an Android device requires combining system-level configuration with dedicated anti-theft defense. Review this checklist to ensure your device is fortified:

  1. Use a 6-Digit PIN or Alphanumeric Password: Avoid simple 4-digit PINs (like 1234 or birth years) or simple 4-point patterns that can be identified via screen smudges.
  2. Enable Instant Lock on Screen Off: Go to Settings → Security → Screen Lock settings and set the lock timeout to "Immediately" after sleep.
  3. Install IntrudEye Anti-Theft Protection: Activate the 7-layer defense suite to monitor pocket removal, failed PIN attempts, and hardware connections.
  4. Arm Rakvo™ Pocket Guard in Public: Enable context-aware pocket protection when commuting on trains, buses, or in crowded areas.
  5. Set Up Failed Unlock Photo Capture: Enable Intruder Detection so anyone guessing your PIN has their photo and GPS coordinates logged.
  6. Link Telegram & Email Alert Channels: Configure IntrudEye to automatically send incident reports with map links to your external accounts.
  7. Disable USB Debugging: Check Developer Options and turn off USB Debugging when not writing code to prevent unauthorized ADB access.
  8. Lock Down Sensitive Notification Previews: Set lockscreen notifications to "Hide sensitive content" so 2FA codes and private messages are hidden until unlocked.
  9. Enable SIM Card PIN Lock: Set a SIM PIN under Settings → Security → SIM lock so a stolen SIM cannot be inserted into another phone to intercept SMS verification codes.
  10. Run IntrudEye Security Health Audits: Use the built-in Command Center to check for outdated policies or risky configuration toggles.
